Spanking Blue

I saw an episode of Judging Amy this morning which concerned a case in which social services wished to assume custody of a child because the father spanked(or as DCF saw it, abused) him. I was spanked a lot as a kid and with the benefit of hindsight, it wasn't always for a good reason. Still, I think that generally, it pointed me in the right direction. I guess on this issue, I am a bit less liberal than the principal characters of the aforementioned show. In the end, I believe that spanking may be done in moderation and should be left as the last resort.
