Me-O-Maniac Avenue

A philosopher once said that the three ingredients for a fufilling life are a meaningful relationship, a decent job and relevance. This blog chronicles my attempts to achieve the three in no particular order. It also provides a view of the world through my eyes.

The Empire Strikes Back

Just as I feared, Dubya has won the election. Not only that, he has a firm hand on both houses of congress. Just when we thought John Kerry represented 'A New Hope', 'The Empire strikes Back'. It now seems that we have to wait four long years for "The Return of the Jedi".
11 states voted to secure the definition of marriage as an institution between a man and a woman. Thank God we have gotten rid of that "Phantom Menace". Even with that small respite, Dubya's victory means that we have to worry about the fact that it is only a matter of time before another"Attack of the Clones".

That was a great piece of "American Graffiti." As long as Bush pretends to be "Indiana Jones" and continues his "Last Crusade" into "The Temple of Doom," his policies will flop like "THX-1138" because they are stuck in "1941." Oops--is that a Spielberg-Lucas confusion? Oh well, it still fits!
